Books I Love

This is a book that I recently purchased. I love applique. The projects in this book are just so cute.

It is Folk Quilt so the shapes are simple. This makes them  great for a beginner. There are even a few projects that are made from wool and all of the projects could be adapted to work with wool If you have ever been scared to try applique because it is just too hard or takes too much patience, forget all that. When you applique with wool, you just cut and stitch. There is no seam allowances to turn under. You don’t have to worry about edges fraying. You don’t even have to stitch it down very well. It is wonderful to embellish with buttons or beads and embroidery floss.

Angels, sewing boxes, small wall hangings, purses are just a few of the projects that you will find in this delightful book that is filled with beautiful pictures that just want to get your fingers stitching.

Clare has very clear, easy to follow instructions.

I just can’t say enough good things about this book. I love it!
