Oops, I did it again

Sorry for the bad subject line.

I have been so distracted lately.

I owe people apologies.

The first goes out to Barbara Chojnacki of Six Gables Designs. She is a wonderful woman that I had a Christmas swap with. She made me the loveliest handbag you can see below. I love the colors and the pattern.

Inside were even more goodies!

It is just the right size for me to carry around. I love it. I don’t want Barbara to think that I didn’t like it, because I LOVE it. I just get distracted and then I get forgetful and I know I don’t pay enough attention to the people I should pay attention to.

I’ve heard it said:

”Do what you love and you will never work another day in your life.”

Well, I do love quilting and I love my family. December was wonderful. I didn’t get much quilting done, but I was getting my fill of family. All my girls were home. I treasure this each time it happens because I am sure those days are going to be few and far between from here on out.

Here is my little granddaughter Emma. She lives in Georgia so she doesn’t see snow like we have it in Vermont. She had so much fun being pulled around in the sled. She just did not want to get out of that sled.

Happy children

Look closely at that little face.

It doesn't get much better than this.

I’ve also been working feverishly on my next pattern. I really think you are going to like this one. Today I have been working on the layout and trying to work out some bugs. (Okay, there is a whole nest of bugs, but I’m not afraid of bugs and I’m making progress.) Before I knew it the day was gone and it was time to get busy with other things.

I realized today that I love this work. It isn’t easy. I have had a lot of problems with software trying to get the patterns to look just the way I want them too. Right now, it doesn’t pay well, in fact, let’s not talk about that. It is a lot of work, but I love it. I absolutely love doing this and hope that I can continue with it and make it a bit profitable so I can continue to share my love of quilting with others.

Is there anything that you do that you enjoy so much that you lose track of time and don’t want it to end?

Let’s all go sledding….oops, I mean quilting, or whatever it is that you enjoy!
